City of Rosewood Tour - Rosewood, FL

The “Rosewood” massacre was a violent, racially motivated conflict that took place during the first week of January 1923 in rural Levy County, Florida. At least six blacks and two whites were killed, and the town of Rosewood was abandoned and destroyed during what was characterized as a race riot.

Harry T. Moore Museum - Mims, FL
Day trip (Departing at 7:45am)

Civil Rights Activist, Harry T. Moore, Born in 1906 and died in 1951, was President of the Brevard County Branch of the NAACP for seventeen years. Moore traveled through Florida organizing NAACP branches, investigating lynching, protesting acts of police brutality and organizing voter registration campaigns.

In 1951 on Christmas Eve a bomb planted under Moore's small six-room cottage in Mimms, FL killed Moore and his wife, Harriette. The case still remains open at the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

All overnight tours are based on TWO to a room so you will need a roommate. We need a minimum of 36 people to avoid cancellation so please choose your trips and RESERVE EARLY!
